Applying to Gratz College
Graduate Program Admissions Requirements and General Regulations
Applicants to graduate programs must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Some degree programs have additional pre-requisite requirements that are detailed in the individual program descriptions in this bulletin. Students without the required background may be admitted and may complete necessary pre-requisite courses concurrently with appropriate graduate courses. The option of “credit by examination” or “credit by evaluation” is available in lieu of any pre-requisite.
Application Procedure
- An applicant is required to submit the following documents in order to be considered for admission:
- A completed application including a personal statement.
- Official transcripts of undergraduate and graduate studies, if any, from both general and/or Jewish institutions previously attended.
- Two letters of recommendation, one academic and one personal/professional.
- A $50 non-refundable application fee.
After all required documents have been submitted, the admissions committee or the candidate may request an interview as part of the admissions process. Applicants for professional degree programs should expect to be interviewed.
Non-Matriculating Students
Students who wish to take courses but do not intend to pursue an academic credential through Gratz College at this time may do so through the College’s Samuel Netzky Division of Continuing Education. They may become degree candidates at a later date by following the admissions procedure described above. A maximum of two courses attained as a non-matriculated student may be transferred.
